MINDFULNESS TRANSFORMS! In this workshop, you will be exposed to the principles and application of Hakomi, a mindfulness-centered somatic psychology. Hakomi is a powerful practice for gaining insight (knowing what you’re doing) as well as transformation (doing what you want – aka establishing new patterns of behavior and thinking). For the mental health professional, you will learn how mindfulness can be a central tool within a session as well as how to incorporate the wisdom of the body with your existing knowledge. For body based practitioners, you will learn how to interface with the mind (thoughts, emotions, belief systems, and memories) as you work with patterns in the body’s physical and energetic structure. For the meditator, you will learn how to engage collaboratively in mindfulness with another, thereby uncovering “blind” spots in the construction of self and relational wounds. And finally, for those on a personal path of self-discovery, you will learn how mindfulness as a state of consciousness can deepen the journey.
