Change Without Force: Applications of Non-violence, Mindfulness and Loving Presence in the Therapeutic Relationship: an introduction to the Hakomi Method

April 11, 2015 - April 12, 2015

$250.00

In this two day workshop we will explore the blending of three of Hakomi’s foundational Principles: Non-violence, Mindfulness and Loving Presence. Carl Rogers, 20thcentury psychologist, said, “The curious paradox is that the more I accept myself just as I am, then I can change.” Our philosophy of non-violence has to do with that same kind of deep acceptance for what arises from within a person.

That non-judgmental attitude supported with mindful awareness makes for a potent combination. So, in addition, we will study the current theory and practice of mindfulness. Hakomi founder, Ron Kurtz, described Hakomi as ‘facilitated self-study’. That’s what this workshop is about.

There will be lectures, experiential exercises, time for mindfulness, and time for integration. It is open to all those interested in the healing arts and sciences.
